Go Low ban
I can’t really say I’m surprised but I seems Kenny Saint Brown & The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC both have the same definition of nudity.
Shortly after the video debuted, the NBC has put a ban on the video on free-to-air TV stations. So if you have cable or satellite don’t be worried. You can still watch Go Low and all its “nudity”.
Check out the video, and decide for yourself.

I like these types of events because they honour and raise the profile of Nigerians. Welcoming the Nigerian Olympic team this way is a good thing for their moral.
Obinna Metu; 100m, 200m athlete representing Nigeria in 2012 London Olympics.
I am the fastest man in Nigeria. I feel good and it’s a dream come true to be in London. This is my 2nd Olympic tournament along with 2008. I am not afraid of Usain Bolt the current champion. I was in Jamaica in 2010 to train with the best coach in the world and I trained with him, usain bolt. I believe he’s one of the best and I want to beat him. We were in the same heat in 2008 and I let him get away, I won’t let him this time. Yes Obinna, for all of Nigeria’s sake, we like your promise, we are right behind you.
ENGR SANI NDANUSA; HEAD OF OLYMPIC COMMITTEE; WE CAME TO COMPETE, NOT PARTICIPATE.
The team has been looked after properly and are ready. We came here with 50 athletes because they are the best out of 150million people. London olympics is not a place for testing anybody. We will be within Gold Medal reach in London 2012 and are already planning for Beijing 2016.People think Nigeria is down since the 80s due to our football dominance but we are doing well in other sports like basketball, check it. Nigerians are rowing and we are expanding our sports curriculum back in schools. We have minimised excesses by having a small number of delegates who are all staying in modest hotels. The Nigerian government has not promised anybody anything for winning but the private sectors have. Some have said N2.5m for Gold, N1.5m for silver and so on. The government are giving companies tax breaks so they can support as such. The Jumbo package will come from the government. We are very happy about the support of this event and the Nigerian Athletes are enjoying home advantage, hopefully that will also transpire when the games begin.
WALE OJO; ACTOR NEW NIGERIAN CINEMA;
Young Nigerian athletes by being millions in England make up the backbone of British sport. We should all be proud of Nigeria and show our support for the National team.
INNOCENT EGBONIKE; Head Coach, Nigerian Olympic team 2012. Picture
This Event shows us we have homeboys and homegirls in London. We will not dissapoint. TheNigerian athletes have done well in the African championships and Olympic trials in 2012. Moral is high and we will shine. All we can ask for 1st are your prayers and moral support.Watch the space
MRS FALILAT OGUNKOYA
Bronze Medallist 400m Atlanta 96
Silver medallist 4*4 Atlanta 96
I’ve been in 3 olympics and this is the 1st time the team has been welcomed like this, Its nice to see Nigerians appreciating Nigerians. My advice to the athletes is keep your head up, do your best and make Nigeria proud.
Adebayo Jones
Adebayo Jones, Nigerian King of Couture
This Event Shows we appreciate the Efforts these athletes have made to get here, training hard and qualifying to represent a great nation like Nigeria. We coming out to welcome them this way is the right thing to do.

...The
damming emails also reveal the scale of the defence infiltration in the case.
So far DC
John McDonald (45) is the only serving officer who has been arrested and
bailed. DI Walters, Knuckey and Hunter also arrested are all on police bail.
RISC
Management Limited was the private detective agency hired by Speechly Bircham
Solicitors to provide Ibori’s legal team with assistance with the ongoing
police investigations. Documents now show that the private detectives were in
fact working closely with the police helping them build a case against Ibori
and others.
The
sensational emails uncovered reveal the degree of the inappropriate
relationships as between the private detectives and the serving police
officers.
They
conclusively establish that Keith Hunter has lied to British MPs. Having
repeatedly and categorically denied in written statements submitted to
Parliament any communication with the Police by RISC during the Ibori
investigation, these emails irrefutably demonstrate that Hunter has deceived
British Parliament - the very heart of the British integrity.
The following
comments have been extracted from the suppressed emails in which Cliff Knuckey
of RISC Management Limited some of which had been copied to Hunter.
Excerpts
read:-
“I know Gary
Walters and he is “totally out of his depth” in this investigation”
“Knowing Mr
Gardiner [a senior police detective] has an unhealthy habit of being over
economic with innuendo; rumour; and misguided interpretation…. Some of Mr
Ibori’s answers …could be manipulated…”
“I had a
telephone conversation with DCM late last week..”
“I will meet with
DCM next week to find out what is happening”
“DCM and his
colleagues will be on a very large fishing expedition for information..”
“DCM no
longer has the ability to make a decision to charge..”
“I know DCM
is in the UK all next week”
“Peter Clark will
take the lead role in interviewing you with DC Macdonald being present..”
RISC
operatives knew full details on the police investigation. They knew the
whereabouts of the police officers and could contact them at any point in time.
They appear to have been in regular telephone conversations, they knew who the
interviewing officers were how the interviews were going to be conducted - all
matters which the police officers were not authorised to divulge.
One of the
most damming emails reads:
“I have fixed
a meeting with DCM on Monday and will undoubtedly get an understanding of what
the current difficulties are being faced by the police.”
“DCM” is the
same DC [John] McDonald, the lead case officer who initiated the Ibori
investigation in 2005 and has been pursing the case for 7 years.
This email
was sent the day after a RISC operative, Cliff Knuckey had handed over £5,000
to DC McDonald after a 7 hour lavish wining and dining session.
McDonald as a
serving police officer was not authorised nor permitted to divulge details
surrounding police investigations.
The Crown
Prosecution Service prosecuting were under a legal duty to provide the defence
teams with all documents they had, however, according to defence lawyers none
of the emails which contain the highly incriminating evidence of illegal
conduct have ever been provided. These failings may well may amount to further
grounds of gross misconduct and a wider conspiracy to pervert the course of
justice.
New Scotland
Yard is refusing to confirm or deny whether any other officers in its
corruption unit are currently being investigated. Rumours are rife as other
officers; DC Irons and DC Greenwood are believed to have known about the
corrupt payments in May 2008 and are believed to have conspired with McDonald
to suppress the documents or participated.
The
anti-corruption police investigation is being widely and closely watched as
attempts of another Met police “cover up” similar to the original phone hacking
scandal is expected."

Deportation: 2 Nigerian illegal
immigrants strip naked in protest
| 19/07/2012
By: NNANNA OKERE, Italy
Wednesday, July 18, 2012
Two Nigerians illegal immigrants have reportedly stripped themselves naked to protest arrest by the Italian police. The incident occurred recently following threats by the Italian government to deport the two immigrants to Nigeria, after they were allegedly arrested for constituting nuisance in their neighborhood.
The account of the incident by our correspondent said the duo, one Christantus Okonkwo who hails from Orlu in Imo State and John Osagie aka (Papy) from Benin, Edo State, were arrested by the Italian police who found them drunk and disturbing the neighbourhood.
The decision to deport the suspects followed the discovery by the police that they had been living in the country illegally. They were subsequently detained for two days.
Daily Sun gathered that the two men, who were later moved to a deportation camp, staged a protest at the Malpensa International Airport Milan by stripping naked to attract the sympathy of the immigration officials to rescind the decision to deport them.
Although their protest fell on the deaf ears of the immigration officials and almost met a brickwall but for the intervention of a fellow Nigerian said to be married to an Italian lady who was touched by the protest.
Eyewitnesses said the timely intervention of the man whose name was not mentioned saved the situation, as he was quick to contact a lawyer.
As at the time of filing this report both Okonkwo and Osagie had been moved to a refugee camp pending the outcome of their petition by their lawyer over their deportation matters.
It was gathered that Okonkwo had lived in Europe for 12 years without a residence permit, while John Osagie who entered the country illegally from Libya to seek political asylum, which the Italian government denied him chose to remain there for the past 2 years.
When arrested, Osagie it was reported could not present proof of a political asylum status.
Chris Okonkwo who came into Europe since 2000 said he lived in France for 4 years where he sought political asylum and was denied for no evidence.
After four years in France, he moved to the Netherlands where he stayed for one year before moving into Italy in 2005 and had been living there for the past seven years. Due to frustration, Chris has turned himself into a drunk which made the Italian police to marked him as an insane person,",a witness said.
When asked why he went naked at the Airport, Chris said " having spent 12 years in Europe as a whole without achieving anything how can I go back to Nigeria empty handed. I have no papers, no job, no wife and children, no house of my own both in Nigerian and in Europe. I have not achieved anything in Nigeria. I don't want to go back to Nigeria to face the shame."
He however, appealed to the Italian and Nigerian governments to intervene in his case.

Shocking: A Nigerian In Austria Brutalised By The Police, Now On Crutch. To Lose His €80,000 Flats and His €73.360 Cash To His Bank
"One of my lawyers threatened me that I would see because here is Austria "
"My current lawyer called me a slave and deceptively offered to buy my flats"
"My two life insurances and bank account were closed without my consent"
"The accident I had was turned against me that I wanted to commit suicide and when I told my lawyer to appeal she said that the decision was final"
"The money my company paid me through my former lawyer for wrongful dismissal after my accident he refused to pay it to me"
"Please help I am losing all I laboured in life"
My heart bleeds and I am in heavy pains. It is so, so sad and unfortunate to see my fellow black man and a Nigerian in the state I saw Nosa Igbinoba toddled like a child as his waist trembled to dance while he moved his legs with extreme difficulty and painfully struggled to support himself with a crutch. As we walked, we stopped intermittently for a rest as he interwove his crutch from right to left and without minding who was watching us on the street his tears rolled uncontrollably as he narrated the good, the bad and the ugly side of his life story in Austria . I fought back to hold my own tears to avoid breaking him down the more, tried as much as I did, but nature still took its course and failed me at the end of our approximately 100 metres walk that took us more than 28 minutes.

Reuters) - Nigeria's government said on Wednesday it had signed a $1.49 billion contract with state-owned China Civil Engineering Construction Corp (CCECC) to build a railway between the commercial capital Lagos and Ibadan. Lagos, the heartbeat of
Africa's second largest economy, is around 130 km south of Ibadan, Nigeria's third largest city and a transit point between the coast and the north.
"(Cabinet) today approved the award of the Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge railway double track contract to CCECC in the sum of $1.487 billion ... with a completion period of 36 months," Minister of Transport Idris Umar told reporters.
Nigeria in World Book Capital bid
Oxford loses out to Port-harcourt Nigeria in World Book Capital bid
OXFORD has missed out on becoming Unesco World Book Capital, it was confirmed yesterday. The city was bidding to win the title for 2014 but it has instead gone to Port Harcourt in Nigeria. Oxford’s bid, one of 11 worldwide, was co-ordinated by Oxford Inspires and a steering committee made up of local organisations.
Oxford Inspires chairman Tony Stratton said: “While we are sad our bid was unsuccessful, it has been a catalyst for raising awareness of national literacy challenges and for putting real commitment and energy behind working for change. Nothing of this work will be wasted.”
Oxford’s bid had an Imagination Unbound theme, celebrating books’ power to inspire and unlock imaginations.

8 Reasons For Marital Failure Amongst African Americans
Until Death Do Us Part: 8 Reasons For Marital Failure Amongst African Americans By Dr. Umar Abdullah-Johnson, Psy.D., NCSP, M.Ed. Nationwide (November 6, 2011) -- Discussions about the epidemic are everywhere, from the latest best-selling novels to academic discussions on college campuses, to passionate discussions between Frat brothers & Sister circles. The question everyone wants answered is "WHY?" Unfortunately, many of the traditional reasons you have been given for the premature romantic meltdowns amongst Blacks are inaccurate and insufficient. These very same factors were present when successful Black marriages, created 30 or 40 years ago, were forged but yet many a couple managed to stay together. As a child therapist, who spends much of my time navigating the parental relationship in order to create an atmosphere of normalcy in which our children can function, and as a doctor of clinical psychology, who studies the emotional and psychological conditions that give rise to relationship difficulties that are unique to African-Americans, I have discovered that there are several themes running through failed families that if brought to your consciousness may help you escape a dead end relationship, or be able to help resuscitate a dying one back into new life. With nearly most Black children being reared in single parent households it shouldn't come as a surprise that the ADHD diagnosis has been on the rise, which in most cases has nothing to do with any neurologically-based brain dysfunction, but rather a family-based emotional dysfunction that I refer to sarcastically but truthfully as "Absence of Daddy from Home Disorder," which is the real ADHD. If we want to save the Black community, we have to save the Black family, for if the most essential of institutions is destroyed then almost no other can function effectively. 1) SEARCHING FOR SECURITY: UNMET EMOTIONAL NEEDS FROM CHILDHOOD - Because so many of us either come from families that were dysfunctional, or had relationships with parents that were dysfunctional, it's not difficult to understand how one's unconscious conflicts may lead you on a search to find what you never had (i.e., SECURE ATTACHMENT TO A CAREGIVER, ATTENTION, ACCEPTANCE, LOVE/INTIMACY, APPROVAL, TRUST, RECIPROCITY). Because one's relationship behavior, under such circumstances, is largely under the control of unconscious impulses it should come as no surprise to you that selfishness ranks at the top of the list of reasons for relationship dissatisfaction. When your dating or mating behavior is largely driven by an unmet childhood need, your partner simply becomes a means to an end, but NOT the end itself. Thusly, you end up using and exploiting them, for what they can give to you, without offering anything in return. You must become conscious of how your poor relationships with parents, or siblings, is continuing to play out in your romantic behavior, transforming you into an exploiter or victim of emotional exploitation. Before settling down, you'd being doing yourself a huge favor by having an in-depth discussion with your bride or groom to be, to ensure their reasons for marriage are not based upon attempting to overcome childhood insecurities that have plagued them for most of their lives. 2) SELF-HATRED: LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO LOVE YOU - Many people are their own worse enemy but are totally unconscious of this fact. When something goes wrong in your life do you chalk it up to a learning experience, or human error, or are you one of many Blacks who begins to replay old abusive audiotapes from memory, with your parents' voices (or older siblings) disguised as your own. Do you beat yourself up without mercy, or are you able to comfort yourself when you make mistakes. If your inner voice is that of an abusive and overly punitive parent, chances are you suffer from self-hatred, and it is this self-hatred that is driving you to find a mate who can put out your self-inflicted emotional arson with their cool waters of love and compassion. You can spend a significant portion of your life trying to find love until you come to the realization that you will not be able to reciprocate the love you find if you do not ALREADY love yourself. No matter how much another person loves you, until you love yourself, you will never be able to love them in return appropriately or effectively. In fact, they may choose to walk away from the arrangement after having their emotional forces sucked dry without reciprocity. You don't need a lover, you need a therapist. 3) MATERIALISM MELTDOWN: BUYING HAPPINESS - Needless to say that in a capitalistic society the corporate-owned media will actually be able to convince some African-Americans that marrying someone with economic potential, and the education to go along with it (i.e., MBA, JD, MD, PhD, PsyD, etc) may actually brainwash you into thinking that to find a person who appears able to help your purchase an upper middle class lifestyle may lead to lasting happiness. Nothing could be further from the truth. Listen to me carefully, "money buys pleasure, it can never buy happiness." In fact, the pleasures that money buy often lead to addictions that destroy relationships. This is not an invitation to a life of poverty often so well propagated by the religious sector, that many Blacks erroneously find poverty to be a blessings, but rather this is just a dosage of psychological realism that peace of mind cannot be purchased. Many Black marriages simply dissolve when one superficial partner is no longer content with the "financial ceiling" their partner has hit. A high maintenance partner, man or woman, spells disaster. These individuals are self-centered and emotionally distant. They never get the last laugh as sooner or later old age creeps upon them, and the wisdom of contentment begins to haunt them, but not before then with they give up their self-centered capitalistic mindset to begin the search for an intimacy and love that cannot be purchased with a credit card. 4) ESCAPING MISERY: LOOKING FOR A WAY OUT OF YOUR PAIN - Many of us look for relationships not to satisfy our unmet needs, or our economic desires, but rather as a life jacket to save us from dealing with personal challenges that we don't care to address. All of us have things about ourselves that cause us great discomfort (i.e, problems with relatives, health concerns, dietary issues, professional barriers, unfinished goals, problems on the job, unearned degrees, poor relations with our children, emotional concerns, etc), but yet we don't have the resolve or discipline to face them. Just as an alcoholic or drug user reaches for substances in times of inner pain and turmoil, you simply reach for a new relationship. As all drugs must ultimately reach a point of tolerance, where more is required to retain the desired effect, as soon as one relationship is no longer sufficient to distract us from our personal emotional issues, we discard it and reach for another. RELATIONSHIP ADDICTS, Blacks who cannot be without a romantic partner, is a very real and prevalent concern in our community. Being addicted to relationships is certain to land one in an ongoing, yet unfulfilling, cycle of relationships that are devoid of true reciprocity and intimacy. The problem with relationship addiction is that the relationship cannot save you from yourself, nor can it ever serve as an effective band-aid for your inner conflicts. It's better to fix yourself than destroy someone else's life. Anyone who cannot be alone long enough to develop a relationship with themselves can never build a happy one with another person. 5) POST-TRAUMATIC RELATIONSHIP DISORDER: THE GHOST OF RELATIONSHIPS PAST - In an attempt to acquire happiness, which cannot be obtained from any outside source, including people, many of us do not allow ourselves sufficient time to heal from long-term relationships, or short-term exhausting relationships, that have sapped our emotional, spiritual and psychological energies. Between relationships we all need a period of fasting, where we give our minds and souls the opportunity to heal and rest, before we attempt to "get it right the next time." We always hear talk about the need for dietary fasting and spiritual fasting, but now is the time for me to introduce the concept of relationship fasting. Yes, a period of NON-DATING, that should last at least a season (3 months) before you infect some innocent person's life with the negative energy of a past relationship. Just as with all traumas, you need time to re-stabilize your inner self and regain a sense of reality. When you don't give yourself TIME OFF from forging new romantic attachments you risk spoiling what otherwise would have been a perfectly good relationship with your psychic baggage from your previous love(s). You are not able to trust, love, commit, reciprocate and be emotionally available for fear that he or she may be a rendition of the previous failed partnership. If you are still afraid, that means you are still suffering the aftershocks of post-traumatic relationship disorder, and should not be dating. This is one of the biggest problems with relationships in our community, as too many of us are spiritually infected with the unhealthy energies of past encounters, not to mention still in love with previous partners, thusly wasting the time of an innocent person who has healthy relationship needs that you are not able to fulfill since you are still preoccupied with someone who is no longer in your life, or shouldn't be. You have to get over your past in order to get on with your life. There is a season for everything, including a time to heal. |

Stella Obayuwana
I joined the military in 1996 shortly after immigtating to the US. I enlisted as an Undesignated Airman (which means I did not have any specific jobs and my duties where as assigned). From that very humble beginning, I studied night and day and passed the test to become an Aviation Electronics Technician. That was the beginning of my upward progression in the military. Soon after that, I became a Flight Line Supervisor for the launch and recovery of Navy MH-53 Helicopters and Corrosion Control Specialist. Following my first assignment in Sicily Italy, I attended the Aviation Electronics School in Pensacola, FL where I graduated top in class and was offered another school to specialise in the calibration of electronics test equipments. Upon completion of my schools, I was assigned to a Aviation Maintenance Command in San Diego, California, where I took the advancement test for the next rank and passed. I also applied to the Officer Candidtae School and was accepted. As an Oficer, I have risen to the rank of Lieutenant Commander, acted as a Division Officer, Department Head, attained two Masters Degree, and am currently seeking admission to obtain a Doctorate Degree. I have served onboard three ships, four shore and two overseas locations.
On a personal note, I recently gave birth to a precious little boy and recently completed a Mystery Romance novel, The Illusions of Truth, which I hope to publish this year.

Alhaji Sanusi Lamido POINTS AT THE ROOT OF BOKO HARAM PROBLEM!!
Alhaji Sanusi Lamido POINTS AT THE ROOT OF BOKO HARAM PROBLEM!!
I was at a UBS event on Friday, when an English woman said that the northerners were marginalized and poor... I retorted by asking whose fault was that? If my memory served me right, the northerners have ruled the country until the last decade. Why did they not develop their land? Why kill southerners who brought businesses and developed their land!!
Sanusi is an Islamic scholar borderline fundamentalist. Didn't Nigeria sustain itself on pure Agriculture (cash-crops) before oil was discovered? Did majority of that not come from the North. How can the North be poor when they still have this and can develop it.... Are the governors of the Northern states asleep? Or just as corrupt as their brothers and cousins in the South.
There is no excuse for BH. No excuse for exterminating the Christians or Southerners that live in the North. Those who have brought businesses there and tried as much... to develop the North. There is wealth in the various states and parts of Nigeria apart from oil... There is no excuse for the Poverty in the North and the Niger-Delta areas inter alia. I missed Mallam Sanusi's event at the LSE last week. Just as well. The Q&A session would have been uncomfortable and probably piss him off. The irony is that I admire his intellect and confidence and actually respect him but he does yank me in unpleasant parts sometimes.
