You got my repect for telling the truth as it is. Nigerian problems are visionless and greedy leaders who are gangsters in the name of politics to ruin the country. Greed does not allow them to create structures for public interests and posterity. But they forget that in moments of health crisis, what counts most is which clinic around has the best care. Such was case study presented by Babangida's sick journey abroad to Germany. Here was the former president people thought to be the smartest but was full of deceits. I guess he was not suprised to land on foreign health care facility because he built non at home. This is an ex-president should feel confident to stay in his country most ultra modern health facility built  anywhere at home. There to receive first class care best trained health experts can provide. Babangida had the opportunity and the capacity more than any other leader Nigeria has ever produced. But failed to provide equitable amenities Nigerians need. Rather, used military powers to consfiscate the national wealth to his imperial dynasty amidst of nagging poverty. Forgetting that soldier come soldier go. Thereby missed the greatest opportunity he had in life to become an icon, one of the  powerful heros the world would have come to adore for his wisdom and foresight. Nelson Manadela for one. If he justifies himself to be a good leader, he need not humiliate his prestige by coming again to contest like he did. That fade away his image out of Nigerian history. What an illusisive government Babangida had, and mindlessly threw away any legacy left into oblivion because of excessive greed.

The deceptive irony about Nigerian political elites is that they will never learn from mistakes of past leaders. Their hindsights are the judgemental blunders of Babangida regime and his cohorts for failures to provide Nigerians with basic life necessities. Instead the military regime left the country with injustice and crimes against humanity which their politicians allys continue to carry out to date. Except in Imo State the citizens to it upon themselve to brake the cycle of injustice through demoratic intelligence. Each segment of Nigeria government  exist simply exist to enrich the political elites to create economic dichotomy in the society. That was the system established by the military. For sure, leopard will never change the skin.  Without any contradiction, as long there is petrolium oil money to share at federal level,  the infamous politicians will remain brigade of unconscionable thieves.

my friend, which "structure put in place by baabangida" a
re you talking about? can you please name them? does it include clinics and hospitals that should have precluded him flying to Germany to be treated? I mean the man took the opportunity to loot and ruin Nigeria, and build himself some heavenly 50 ro                                  om mansion, and now have to drag himself to a foreign land for healing. Cuba could not compare with Nigeria in wealth, but all the years Castro was ailing, did he leave Cuba? The structure you are talking about must include a fine clinic even in Minna, to warrant anyone making sense of the lame defense you seem to put up here for about the worst human being that ever chanced at the helm in Nigeria. Over to you. Let us have the structures! --- On Fri, 11/11/11, danlami wushishi <danwushishi@yahoo.com> wrote:

While on that surgery table, let IBB think about Dele Giwa; an honest patriot to the Nigerian nation, whom IBB "summarily dismissed". Dele Giwa had no chance to receive a life-saving operation! May the ghost of Dele Giwa stare Ibrahim Badagmosi Babangida in the face,  on his surgery table!!

I wish IBB a speedy recovery but the fact that all our leaders go outside Nigeria to seek medical help means that all of them have failed us and are not worthy to be called leaders.
After 8 years IBB could not build a single hospital with modern facilities that could even treat the so called leaders.  Shame on them.

IBB undergoes surgery in Germany

A former military president, General Ibrahim Baban-gida, is ill and on admission at a German hospital.
Babangida, who left the country a few weeks ago for what was reported to be a routine medical check-up, was said to have been indisposed for quite some time now.
A source close to the hospital in Germany said the former president, who had a successful operation for an undisclosed ailment, was initially in critical condition a few minutes after the operation, but had since stabilised.
However, a source close to his family told the Nigerian Tribune that he spoke with Babangida by phone on his sick bed in Germany at about 4.10 p.m. (Nigerian time) on Thursday and that there was no cause for anxiety over his health.
All efforts to get through to his media aide, Mr Kassim Afegbua, were unsuccessful, as he neither responded to calls nor to the text message sent to him.
